FORD, PTE. LEONARD Reg #657180

George Leonard Ford was born January 15, 1896, the son of George Ford and Bertha Weber.

At the time of the 1901 and 1911 censuses, the family lived in Ryerson Township, with the family specifically identified as living on Lot 30, Concession 10.

 

George Leonard enlisted on October 15, 1915 in Brks Falls. He identified that he had been born in Ryerson Twp., that he lived in Burks Falls at the time of enlistment and that he was a farmer.

George Leonard arrived in England on November 11, 1916 on the S.S. Caronia.

He was transferred to the 35th Reserve Battalion from the 166th.

In January 1917 he transferred to the Canadian Machine Gun Corps.

He was in the 4th Machine Gun Corps/2nd Div. M.G.Corps when he was wounded

He was with the 4th Machine Gun Corps, 2nd Division when he was wounded on November 6, 1917.
